About Beth Mayer, LICSW:
Beth Mayer, LICSW, has been working in the eating disorders field for 34 years. She has been the Executive Director of MEDA for 15 years. She is nationally recognized for her clinical work with eating disorders and has spoken at conferences around the country. In addition to eating disorders, Beth specializes in treating adolescents and families. Beth has served as an adjunct professor at Simmons College, Boston University, Boston College, Lesley University and Salem State College, supervising MSW and LMHC graduate student interns. She is currently the co-chair of the NEDA network and serves on many local and national committees. Beth holds a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from Quinnipiac University and a Master of Social Work Degree from Boston College.

About Rachel Benson Monroe, LMHC:
Rachel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender and Feminist Studies from Oberlin College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Holistic Studies from Lesley University. Since 2010 Rachel has been helping those who struggle with body image, eating disorders, self esteem, self worth, trauma, and identity issues find peace, healing, connection, and empowerment in their lives.Rachel specializes in bringing movement and mindfulness to therapy and also provides both clinical and educational trainings in the community on MEDA’s behalf at local non profits, health organizations, universities, and schools. Rachel believes strongly in recovery and is honored to guide and empower clients on their own path to wellness.

About Jaime Hyde, LICSW:
Jaime graduated with honors from George Washington University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and completed her Master’s in Clinical Social work from Simmons College. Jaime has experience with diverse clinical populations but is especially passionate about the treatment of eating disorders, and has worked with patients struggling with eating disorders on the inpatient, residential, and outpatient levels. In addition to her clinical expertise, Jaime brings to MEDA her experience working in community outreach, and is responsible for all aspects of Professional Membership at MEDA. Jaime brings patience, compassion and integrity to all her clinical and professional work at MEDA.
Monique Bellefleur Clinical Education Coordinator

Monique is a two-time alum of Boston University. Monique graduated first with her B.A. in Psychology and then with her Ed.M in Counseling. She has completed clinical internships in suicide prevention, psychiatric rehabilitation, and eating disorder treatment in addition to working as a Primary Therapist at an eating disorder PHP/IOP program in the Boston area. Additionally, through her years spent working with international university students and their families, Monique has gained extensive experience in working with a multi-cultural population. Monique loves to lead therapy groups and looks onhealthy acyclovir forward to helping clients process their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors by bringing the group interaction into the “here and now”.
Carolyn Judge Special Projects and Development Coordinator

Carolyn earned a BS from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She worked at one of the oldest architectural firms in the country for 24 years. As a Principal in the firm, she was able to work closely with healthcare professionals, planning and managing large and complex hospital and research facility building projects. Her focus was creating healing environments for patients, their families and caregivers balanced with the complex needs and issues faced by the medical profession. She changed gears a number of years ago to spend more time with her family and became interested in the nonprofit world. She brings her strong organizational and management skills to MEDA and is excited about working with the MEDA team and community to raise awareness about eating disorders and help promote education and awareness.
Julia Spinella Office Coordinator

Julia holds a BA in Organizational Development, Psychology Minor from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is currently pursuing a MA in Organizational Psychology from William James College. Julia has experience working in the fields of team building, consulting, and human services and brings her organizational and facilitation skills to MEDA. She is passionate about Positive Psychology, meditation, and holistic wellness and completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program at UMass Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness. Julia believes in MEDA’s mission and is excited to support the team.
Carley Taylor Graduate Clinical Intern

Carley is a third year graduate student at Lesley University working towards her Master Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Holistic Studies. Carley has also studied nutrition at Tufts University and has several years’ experience working and volunteering as a career counselor working with a diverse clientele. She believes in creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and respected and is passionate about helping clients in their recovery.
Ian Chapman Graduate Clinical Intern

Ian graduated with honors from Belmont University with a BA is philosophy, and went on to work as a research assistant for two years in a Harvard psychology lab studying mindfulness. He is currently in his final year of a Master of Social Work program at Salem State University. For a previous clinical internship, Ian worked with people suffering from various mental and behavioral health issues in an individual and group setting. Now at MEDA, Ian co-leads groups and conducts assessments to those seeking help in their struggle with eating disorders. He strives to always foster a non-judgmental, open, and supportive relationship with clients at all stages of recovery.
