MEDA’s Parent and Family Support Services
MEDA understands that eating disorders affect everyone – not just the individual who is struggling. It is important that all family members, partners, and friends receive support, as well, so they can remain hopeful and supportive for their loved one.
Coaching sessions are one-on-one individualized sessions designed for family members, partners, and friends of an individual with an eating onhealthy eriacta disorder. Clinicians provide targeted education about eating disorders based on the client’s needs, options for care, referrals for treatment, guidance based on the specific case, and how best to utilize available services. Coaching sessions have a $100 fee and can be scheduled at your convenience.
SupportED Group is offered for parents, family members, partners and friends of an individual with an eating disorder. There are groups in Newton (at MEDA) and Gardner, MA.
Newton: MEDA, 288 Walnut St. Suite 130. This drop-in group is Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm. $20 per person per group, $30 for a couple. This group is led by a mental health professional who is an eating disorder specialist and a parent who’s child has been through an eating disorder and found recovery.
