About the Speakers:
Cody Esterle
Cody (he/him) is a workshop facilitator and advocate with the FEDUP Collective and Safely Connected, The Eating Disorder Centre. He works on offering, advancing access to, and reforming eating disorder support for transgender and intersex communities. He seeks to create affirming treatment approaches that acknowledge healthcare’s erasure and oppression of marginalized bodies and identities and have real, informed and complex approaches to trauma informed, harm reductive care that questions our societal norms around bodies, eating, and health.
Sam Sharpe
Sam Sharpe (they/them) is a transgender and intersex peer support worker and researcher with FEDUP Collective and a professor of Biology and Gender Studies. Sam is passionate about addressing issues of oppression and illegibility in eating disorders, empowering alternate pathways to care and healing, and advocating for disability justice and lived experience informed care approaches.
