Life-Saving Eating Disorder Care: Addressing Suicidality Throughout Treatment and Recovery

Up to one third of all people with an eating disorder have considered or attempted suicide at some point in their lives. Join us to learn more about the factors that lead to suicidal thoughts and behaviors in eating disorder patients, and the tools, resources, and knowledge you should have on hand for your patients. Make a difference in your patients’ lives by instilling hope, nurturing positive coping, and increasing safety.

- Differentiate between nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) and suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STB)
- Identify factors that suggest elevated risk and need to assess for NSSI and STB among people with eating disorders

About the Speaker:
Dr. Kathryn Gordon is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Senior Manager of Clinical Training at Equip. Dr. Gordon has worked in the mental health field as a therapist, educator, and researcher for the past two decades with a special focus on eating disorders and suicide. She has published over 80 scientific articles and is the author of The Suicidal Thoughts Workbook and the forthcoming Suicidal Thoughts Guided Journal.
