2018 Boston Marathon Run to Support MEDA
MEDA is honored to have one of our Professional Members, Chris Tecce, run the 2018 Boston Marathon. All proceeds raised by Chris’s run will be donated to MEDA and will support services for those struggling with eating disorders and provide programs to promote body confidence.
More from Chris: It’s likely that either you or someone you know has suffered with an eating disorder or negative body image. Recovery is challenging, and can take a long time, but it does happen.
On April 16, 2018 I will be running the Boston Marathon to benefit the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA), a nonprofit organization in Newton, MA. It’s an honor to support MEDA, as they have been helping people to recover from eating disorders and body image issues for more than 20 years. They provide individual and group therapy, as well as support groups for families and loved ones of those struggling with eating disorders. MEDA also does significant outreach and education with schools and other organizations. Their website contains a wide variety of resources, words of wisdom, and events.
They do all of these important things with a positive, caring approach, and using creativity and hard work to make unique innovations in serving the community. I am fortunate to have been affiliated with MEDA for 14 years. They have helped me to become a better psychologist and person. I would greatly appreciate any support you can give to MEDA to help people in their recovery. Thank you for your generosity! Sincerely, Chris Tecce
