Clinician Job Description
We are growing!! The Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA), located in Newton Centre, MA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. We provide clinical services to people struggling with eating disorders and their families, and training for professionals who treat clients with eating disorders, as well as training for schools and community organizations. We host a popular national conference each spring in addition to many smaller workshops throughout the year. We believe meaningful recovery is possible for everyone. We welcome staff members who have lived experience as well as those who have never experienced an eating disorder but feel called to passionately work with those who are affected by them.

MEDA is currently looking for full-time mental health professional to join our clinical team.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Performing Diagnostic, Biopsychosocial and Level of Care assessments
  • Providing individual and family therapy to clients
  • Facilitating group therapy
  • Conducting coaching sessions for caregivers
  • Providing therapeutic support/skills sessions for exposure activities
  • Facilitating drop-in groups on a rotating schedule with other MEDA clinicians
  • Completing all required clinical and office documentation in a timely manner
  • Fielding clinical phone calls, incoming inquiries and assisting in referral process when appropriate
  • Ensuring timely collateral contacts with treatment team
  • Maintaining contact with community resources to ensure continuity of care.
  • Performing other duties and special projects as required and/or assigned by the Director of Clinical Services and/or Executive Director.
  • Attending all MEDA sponsored events including MEDA National Conference, Annual fundraising Event, NWAP, etc.
  • Supporting MEDA’s general mission and vision
  • Promoting internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Building and promoting a culture of compassionate service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Flexible Schedule


  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work required
  • License to practice independently a plus (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT)
  • Knowledge of eating disorders required
  • 2 years of clinical experience in the field of eating disorders preferred
  • Personal or professional knowledge of eating disorders required
  • Passion to work with people who struggle with eating disorders
  • Thorough understanding of psychopathology, family dynamics and systems
  • Firm background in psychotherapeutic practice and assessment
  • Ability to implement multiple therapeutic techniques to meet client goals and facilitate recovery process
  • Ability to build rapid rapport with clients from all walks of life
  • Ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs
  • Ability to use Electronic Medical Record Platforms
  • Knowledge of Zoom
  • Ability to work two evenings per week
