Introducing the Leslie Bernstein Training Innovation Program
Created in honor of Leslie Bernstein — a passionate educator and lifelong advocate for mental health — this program continues her legacy by investing in those who care for others.
The Leslie Bernstein Training Innovation Program provides free, high-quality professional development in eating disorder treatment to clinical staff at two community mental health centers each year. This initiative is designed to equip mental health professionals with the latest evidence-based practices and practical tools, empowering them to deliver compassionate, effective care to individuals impacted by eating disorders.
Honoring a Legacy of Learning and Advocacy
This program is more than a training — it’s a commitment to equity, collaboration, and excellence in mental health care. By focusing on underserved communities, the Leslie Bernstein Training Innovation Program helps build a network of confident, skilled clinicians prepared to address the complex realities of eating disorders with empathy and expertise.
Building Capacity, Strengthening Communities
Each selected health center receives:
- Comprehensive clinical training sessions
- Expert-led workshops
- Access to advanced resources and tools
By enhancing the skills of mental health providers, the program strengthens the capacity of entire organizations. In turn, this leads to better outcomes for the individuals and families they serve.
