While eating disorders are now known to be a life-threatening disease, clinicians who specialize in the field are few and far between. Limited resources and funding for treatment focused on eating disorders creates a serious issue as those suffering do not receive proper care.

MEDA believes in the team approach to treating eating disorders as well as providing opportunities for professional development. The annual national conference brings over 250 people together to discuss the latest in eating disorder research and therapies. We have a network of over 200 treatment providers and treatment centers. At our “Networking with a Purpose” meetings, clinicians come together to learn about specific aspects of treatment. Two graduate clinical interns get trained at MEDA every year, where they are supervised by clinicians and work directly with clients and loved ones.
