About the Provider
Amy has worked at all levels of eating disorder of eating disorder treatment care. As lead nutritionist at the Klarman Eating Disorder Program she worked with adolescents in a both residential and partial care settings. Through her work at Klarman and several other programs at McLean Hospital, Amy developed a deep understanding of eating disorders and other complex psychiatric illnesses.nnIn addition to her nutrition and yoga training, Amy has a solid background in psychology. She incorporates mindfulness, breath awareness and meditation into her work drawing from her extensive training which includes the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness (MB-EAT) through UMASS Medical Center. Amy also brings sensory integration awareness to her work. Shes certifies in the Sensory Motor Arousal Response Treatment (SMART) method for working with children with trauma.nnAmy has led numerous school programs ranging in audience from preschool through college. She speaks regularly at professional conferences. Amy is a member of the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Multi-service Eating Disorder Association (MEDA), International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
