“Overcoming a Negative Body Image”
Presented by Irene Rovira, PhD, Clinical Director at Eating Recovery Center
REGISTER Here.
During this presentation, we will discuss the sensitive and complex subject of body image and its psychological aspects. Our goal is to explore how individuals perceive and experience their own bodies, including their attitudes, feelings, and reactions toward their appearance, size, and shape. We will also examine various treatment approaches and the impact of the growing diet industry and the increasing rates of cosmetic surgery on body image, as well as the role of the media in promoting unrealistic and thin body standards. By exploring these topics, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of body image and the many factors that influence it.
