About the Provider
Dr. Allie (Loesch) McCarthy is a licensed psychologist providing individual counseling for adolescents and adults. She has worked extensively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and is accepting of individuals from different paths. Dr. McCarthy believes that rapport is an important base for the work done in therapy and she approaches therapy with an active and warm attitude. Dr. McCarthy has specialized experience in working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. She also enjoys working with individuals struggling with anxiety disorders and OCD. Dr. McCarthy has an integrative therapeutic approach that combines different evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, Interpersonal, and Narrative Therapy in order to customize treatment for each individual in her care. She believes the therapeutic relationship is an essential component to psychotherapy. As a Spanish-speaker, she is invested in providing culturally sensitive therapy for the Latinx community. Many of the people she has worked with experienced difficulties due to trauma, immigration, and acculturation issues. Dr. Allie McCarthy obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College where she had a concentration in Latino Mental Health. She is bilingual (Spanish and English) and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from Marist College.
